Sebastian's house is in Northfield and it was in desperate need of more insulation. He could feel air coming through some areas of his walls. Here's what Sebastian did:
- He got an energy audit. This acted as his "guide" for what he needed to do.
- He connected with the Northfield Rotary Club. The Rotary Climate Action Team (RCAT) has people to help you navigate your way through the process of increasing the energy efficiency of your home.
- He contacted a sub-contractor that does insulation (see list below).
- The sub-contractor worked with Sebastian to get the energy rebates from Xcel Energy.
This was the cost/rebates of Sebastian's insulation project:

Don't let the "remainder" column scare you. There's a low-interest loan available for these kinds of projects. It's a loan from Minnesota Housing Finance Agency administered by the Center for Energy and Environment.

The interest rate should be about 3.5%.... if it's anymore than that you're not getting the correct loan for this project.
